Consultation Fees
Surgical Fees
Privately Insured Patients
Your surgery will occur at Adeney Private Hospital. It is the only private hospital in Australia providing a no gap program for the ENTIRE inpatient hospital services with the insurance companies that have a no gap contract with this hospital.
Your first responsibility is to ensure you are covered for the procedure at a Private Hospital and you will be given an item number. Please check with your insurer that you are covered for the procedure.
Invoicing for surgery is very complex and we will try and help guide you through this but there are many insurers in Australia all with different policies and different criteria and rules for re-imbursement.
In all cases you will receive itemized documentation of this before your surgery.
Below is a list of our current Mechanisms for billing.
If you are with BUPA or Medibank and you are covered for the item number provided there are NO out of pocket expenses for ANY part of your stay, including radiology pathology pharmacy or anaesthetics.
#2. Direct billing to the patient
If you are with other funds you will receive an invoice that is payable prior to surgery
The individual responsible for the patient then claims from their insurer the amount pre-determined by the insurer
There will also be additional fees for anaesthetics, pathology, radiology and pharmacy
We will provide you with the name of your anaesthetist to acquire their quote
For ALL cases you will need to pay the hospital/insurer the excess you have on your policy to the hospital on your day of admission.
Uninsured Patients
You will be placed on the waiting list at Eastern Health and they will continue to manage your care in the public system.
You will receive confirmation of this from Eastern Health and the administration of this will no longer occur through our clinic.
